Penthouse where Johnny Depp and Amber Heard lived goes up for sale

by

Johnny Depp really wants to forget about his marriage to Amber Heard. The actor has just put up for sale the penthouse, where the former couple lived in downtown Los Angeles, United States, for almost two years. The information was revealed by the website of the New York Post and Depp wants for the property 1.76 million dollars, approximately R$ 8.57 million.

The property is one of the places where Heard and Depp spent the most time during their marriage and was connected to four apartments that the protagonists of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” owned in the fashionable Eastern Columbia Building. The other properties were sold in 2016, shortly after the actress’s separation and, at the time, for 12.8 million dollars, a little more than R$ 60 million nowadays.

Real estate agent Ernie Carswell assured “The Post” that the announcement of the sale now “is just a coincidence” for having entered the market just after the American court decision in favor of the actor. After six weeks of trial, the jury found Johnny Depp, 58, in his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard, 36, who accused him of domestic violence.

He also explained that the property with Depp’s “unmistakable, bohemian style” has been renovated since the actor moved out of the penthouse. “It was really a mansion in the sky when Johnny lived there because it was all open,” Carswell told the site. The professional could not confirm whether the penthouse is the same where Heard’s sister lived for a period and where the “Aquaman” actress would have punched her ex-husband.

Understand the case:

The defamation trial that Johnny Depp was bringing against his ex-wife ended last week. He filed the suit after alleging that an article by Amber Heard, published in The Washington Post in 2018, affected her image – the actress said she was a ‘public figure representing domestic abuse’. She didn’t mention the actor, but Depp was offended.

After winning the legal battle, Johnny Depp will receive from his ex-partner more than 10 million dollars – R$ 48 million at the current price. However, he will also have to compensate the famous in 2 million dollars – almost R$ 10 million.
