Luísa Sonza defends influencers who take a political stand: ‘Real influence’

The singer Luísa Sonza, 23, made an outburst on her Twitter this Thursday afternoon (9). The artist said she was sad to discover that brands would be canceling advertising campaigns with digital influencers and celebrities who are politically positioned.

“It is a deep sadness to know that brands are taking down advertising campaigns with celebrities and influencers who are politically positioned. What should be a necessity to hire. I am outraged,” she began.

She went on to say that the company Mynd, which takes care of her career, reported that it has been receiving messages from companies “insinuating and even taking down works” by artists who have made their political positions public. “You want influencers who influence what? Just to buy your products?” she asked.

“Because I believe in a real influence that improves our society and makes young people think. Do you want people who only consume what you want and don’t know how to talk about politics and society? What future do you want for us?”, she continued, in a sequence of tweets.

The artist stressed that the outburst was not because of her career, which is already consolidated, but “because of my concern with what we are turning into, I am afraid of becoming a society that simply does not take a stand. That does not think for itself, that does not speak and does not discuss issues vital to our future and our society”.

“I don’t want to live in a dumb country with young people who can only post dances, take beautiful photos on social media and only that is according to what brands want”, he added. She ended her outburst by saying that being an influencer has become a profession, which can have a real influence on the thinking of the population. “If we can’t use that force for something else, what’s the point?”
