Pregnant, Fernanda Vasconcellos says she is ‘dying to work’

Since 2005, when she worked on “Malhação” (Globo), actress Fernanda Vasconcellos has worked on one job after another. Soap operas, series and participations that followed until 2016. Today, her life is at a different pace. First, she herself turned away from soap operas; then came the pandemic taking him away from other projects, and now it’s time to prioritize personal life.

At age 37, the actress is expecting her first child, the result of her relationship with actor Cássio Reis, 44. She, who announced her pregnancy in February, does not reveal when the baby is expected to arrive, but it is already known. that is a boy. After giving birth, the return to work is still uncertain, but it shouldn’t take long. “I’m dying to work, I love it,” she says.

She, however, quickly ponders: “I’ll wait and see, with this movement of respecting what I’m feeling. When we get pregnant, we give up certainties”, says the actress, whose last soap opera was “Haja Coração” (Globo, 2016). ). “When I see this little face when I’m born, maybe I won’t be able to [sair para trabalhar] in the first six months”, he adds.

Fernanda Vasconcellos’ professional life was already changing before her pregnancy. She herself claims that she walked away from soap operas after “Haja Coração” in the desire to expand her productions and find new paths. “I wanted to transit through the series, through cinema”, she says, who came to make the success “Coisa Mais Linda” (Netflix) between the years 2019 and 2020.

“I was very happy, doing a lot of different things and then the pandemic came.” Vasconcellos says that, since March 2020, he still does not feel comfortable going to agglomerations and that, during the pandemic, he even refused invitations to soap operas and other works. “I started to wonder if it wasn’t time to prioritize my family, to have a child. It wasn’t a choice, but those questions stayed with me.”

Even with Vasconcellos away from the small screen, fans could see her in the rerun of “A Vida da Gente” (Globo, 2011) during the period of suspension of unpublished productions. And a movie is already ready to hit the big screen. “Before It Happens” is a thriller, in which she forms a couple with Rodrigo Lombardi. The project was developed with security protocols against Covid and still does not have a release date.

“I felt like I had to wait to get back to soap operas, because it’s nine months recording, like a pregnancy”, she says about why she prioritized the film during the pandemic. “And I ended up getting pregnant at the end of production, in the last few weeks”, completes she, who now wants to put into practice the maternal instinct already shown in the soap operas. “I have a thing about wanting to take care of and protect,” she says.
