The singer spoke about the background behind her baptism as Elli and not Eleni on “The 2Night Show”.

The story of her name was revealed by Elli Kokkinouon Tuesday night at Grigoris Arnaoutoglou and “The 2Night Show” on ANT1.

The singer, among other things, explained that her last name came from her ancestor, a fisherman in Psara who was red-haired and his nickname was “red”. “Mikri, I did not like my last name at all and I felt very bad because they were making fun of me, Kokkinou, Prasinos and such. But now… Artistically it is catchy! “ admitted the singer.

As for her name, she said that there is a whole background behind it as it has not come out of Eleni. Elli Kokkinou said that the name is inspired by Frixos and Elli and is not Christian. She was baptized this way because her father insisted and in fact to achieve this she bribed the pope.

“It was not easy for me to be baptized Elli because the priest did not accept it. He got something from my dad. A case of whiskey and 5000 drachmas. That’s what I was told. I do not know if the priest asked for them or my father gave them to him as a gift. The priest said Eleni and my father did not want anything. I was baptized Elli and so I never celebrate. I do not mind, though “confessed Elli Kokkinou.

She also stated that “They tell me I look like Jennifer Lopez. I do not believe it, but it is an honor, because a woman is a doll “ with Grigoris Arnaoutoglou observing that they were born on the same day “Yes, we were born on the same day, but a year apart. She is bigger, but she looks decades younger “commented Elli Kokkinou.
