This is the first fashion school in Metaverse

The world of Istituto Marangoni in Metaverse is structured in a series of futuristic “neighborhoods” each of which is characterized by a building, to which the user’s avatar has access.

The fashion school for three years Milan Marangoni Institute moves towards a dimension of strong innovation in the teaching of content and experience; in other words, towards Metaverse. This applies to both teaching content and the integration of new advanced digital tools, such as virtual reality. In addition, as part of Fuorisalone 2022, the school hosted the first NFT projects for the “Explore Cappellini Multiverse”, dedicated to the artistic director Giulio Cappellini.

Istituto Marangoni Milano is the first fashion school to embrace Metaverse. As the outbreak of the pandemic marked the beginning of an era characterized by the incorporation of real and virtual experiences, the school gives a deeper insight into the visibility of student projects; it also hosts speeches and other initiatives aimed at uses an immersive language that is familiar to him. The project is called “The Talent District – Istituto Marangoni’s Metaverse Revolution”.

The world of the Istituto Marangoni in Metaverse is structured in a series of futuristic “neighborhoods” each of which is characterized by a building, accessible to the user’s avatar (which can be created at will). The places to visit are in Infopoint which includes all the information about the courses of the school, organized in three academic fields: Fashion, Design, Art.

At the Exhibition Pavilion, all the projects of the best students, with their first-person narrations from the avatars created by the students themselves. The Theater hosts conferences, lectures and discussions which have always been one of the added value of the academic experience at the Istituto Marangoni. Partners’ House contains all the projects implemented for external clients. The Archive is the historical memory of the school’s projects and activities. Each of the “neighborhoods” above includes multimedia material and links to external sources.

Demonstrating the move towards an intense innovation process, it is scheduled to launch in October 2022 a postgraduate course in Digital Design for Immersive Experiences.
