Proposal to make the Olympus Festival the Festival of the Region of Central Macedonia
The president Grigoris Papachristos appealed for support for the Olympus Festival, emphasizing that the Festival does not have a state subsidy. Mr. Papachristos reiterated the proposal he had made in the past as a regional councilor, to become the festival of the Region of Central Macedonia, noting that just as the Athens Festival is based in Epidaurus, so the ancient theater of Dion, the Festival could be Olympus to spread to Thessaloniki and other regional units.
Mr. Papachristos also noted that the Olympus Festival is the only festival that has established the institution of the honored country for 15 years and for 2023 it will be India (in 2021, as this year did not exist due to coronavirus).
