Maraisa, 33, opened her heart in a long open letter addressed to singer Marília Mendonça (1995-2021), who died in a plane crash. In the message, the country woman who is a partner with her twin sister Maiara spoke about the success of the songs they recorded together for the project “Patroas” and how much she misses her friend.

“But I focused only on your will, your desire for everything to work out, and then I concluded: ‘It’s not over… Together to infinity!’ And infinity is God, in whose arms you are now! And yours! legacy, as far as it depends on me, will always be remembered and taken to every corner of Brazil and even of the world”, promised Maraisa, saying that he is still not reconciled with the loss of Marília.

“There isn’t a day that I don’t ask the Lord why I’m living this way!” she said. “There is a greater force that is God, and He knows all things! I’m still pulling myself together, looking for forces from Above, and I hope you’re seeing it too, and very happy with what’s happening here,” she said, which ends the text posted on Instagram this Friday (26) in a loving way.

“Everything I do, I think: “Marília liked it that way!” or “This is Marília’s face!” I miss you very, very much! But, the end is just the beginning! do it here, right friend?! I love you forever”, concluded Maraisa, also posting a video with some moments of the duo in the company of the Rainha da Sofrência.

TRAGEDY

One of the greatest voices in contemporary Brazilian music, Marília died at the age of 26 on the afternoon of November 5th. The information was confirmed by the Fire Department of Minas Gerais in a note sent to the press.

The singer was one of five victims of a plane accident that fell into a mountain range in Piedade de Caratinga, 309 kilometers from Belo Horizonte. The artist had a concert scheduled for the date in Caratinga, about ten kilometers from the accident site.

The fall occurred around 15:00. At first, it was not known if it was the singer who was on board the aircraft. It was the twin-engine resemblance seen in a video she’d shared on Instagram two hours earlier that sparked the doubt. In a comical tone, the publication showed the artist embarking and eating.

In addition to Marília, the following died in the plane crash: Abicieli Dias, uncle and advisor to the singer, music producer Henrique Ribeiro, pilot Geraldo Martins de Medeiros and co-pilot Tarcísio Pessoa Viana.
