During her visit to Kimolos, Mrs. Mendoni performed an autopsy in the Castle. An autopsy on monuments where restoration and enhancement projects are being carried out or planned, as well as meetings to plan new projects from European funds, included the visit of the Minister of Culture and Sports, Linas Mendoni, in Milos, Kimolos and Sifnos. The last stop of her three-day tour in the Western Cyclades is Serifos.
As informed by a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during her visit in Milos, the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, performed an autopsy on the restored ancient theater, in which the restoration of the logium (the floor on which the actors performed) is still pending. Given the maturity of the studies, the project is immediately included in the funded projects, from the Recovery Fund. Regarding the framework of principles for the integration of the theater with the early Christian catacombs, through a network of routes, which is being prepared by the competent Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades, it was deemed necessary to precede rescue work on the retaining wall of the stadium and measures to support its slopes, as interventions that will allow the implementation of the project.
In Ageria, the Minister of Culture performed an autopsy on the rescue excavations that are in progress in the mining fields, with the aim of the best possible promotion of the archaeological work. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Lina Mendonis with the mayor of Milos Manolis Mikelis, in the presence of Cyclades deputy governors Giorgos Leontaritis, and Vassilis Sviggou, as well as elected representatives, in which matters of competence of the YPPOA that concern the island were examined. The mayor’s proposal for the construction of a new museum, on a plot of land that the municipality can provide, was discussed. During her visit to Milos, the Minister of Culture inaugurated the renovated Archaeological Museum and the exhibition “Tombs and Graves” with excavated burial finds.

The minister had a meeting with the mayor of Kimolos, Konstantinos Ventouris, with the participation of Cyclades deputy governor George Leontaritis and municipal councilors.
On her island Sifnos the Minister of Culture conducted an autopsy on the Castle, where possible proposals were examined to include it in the list of destinations accessible to the disabled and disabled, creating the conditions for the extension of the tourist season. At the Archaeological Museum of the Castle, Mrs. Mendoni asked the officials of the Ephorate to immediately complete the study for the restoration of the space available for the expansion of the Museum. The Minister of Culture, together with the mayor Maria Nadali, examined available spaces for the construction of a new Archaeological Museum, which would meet modern exhibition requirements, housing all of the island’s findings. At the level of highlighting contemporary creation, the proposal to conclude a programming contract between the Ministry of Culture, the National Gallery and the Municipality of Sifnos for the creation of the Tetsis Museum, which has linked a significant part of its work to the island, was examined.
The Minister of Culture during her visit to the Western Cyclades was accompanied by the head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades Dimitris Athanasoulis and officials of the Ephorate, the deputy head of the Directorate of Classical and Prehistoric Antiquities Anastasia Gadolou, and other officials.
