Lorena Comparato says she was sexually harassed by a relative

It was not easy to talk about it, but Lorena Comparato, 32, took a deep breath and decided to talk about the sexual harassment she suffered when she was younger. The actress, who is in the cast of ‘It Was Not My Fault’, a series about femicide and harassment by Star+, also revealed that the harasser was from his own family.

“Do you think that your family is a place that you can trust a lot. And I’m very suspicious of everything these days because of that. Because I’ve suffered sexual harassment within my family. It’s very complicated to talk about it, because it was something that I didn’t know was harassment. He would pass his hand on me and ask to see my body”, says Lorena.

According to the actress, the violence took place for years and was “masked as affection”. In an interview with Marie Clarie magazine, she acknowledged that the record about abuse only fell during the pandemic. “What I experienced was a person who, for many years of my life, started very young, he always touched me. He passed his hand, asked to see my body. I did not know that this was harassment, I never knew and who helped me a lot were my friends”, she admits.

Lorena tells the magazine that she trembles when talking about the subject and that she has used therapy to blame herself less for the situation. She also reported that she decided to walk away from the relative who harassed her and that her parents know about it. “It was very difficult for them”, he reveals and then adds: “Many things in my life were contaminated, including my sex life. explained Lorena that she rejects being seen as “a fragile woman or a poor thing”.

“I want to be a survivor, I want to talk about this subject. But I also find it difficult to speak against someone in your family. An older man. Or you speak against a director, a producer. Your father, your stepfather. powerful. Because in many places, children, teenagers and young people denounce this type of harassment and people around don’t believe it, they are in doubt. They think that the child is lying, that it was a joke”, concludes Lorena.
