Anitta reveals she has endometriosis and schedules surgery; she understands everything about the disease

Singer Anitta, 29, revealed on social media that she suffers from endometriosis, a chronic disease that affects some women of reproductive age. Severe menstrual cramps, pelvic pain, discomfort in sexual intercourse, bowel or bowel changes, pain in the lower back and thighs and difficulty getting pregnant are some of the main symptoms.

“From America to Europe without sleep because the pain speaks louder than anything. You can’t concentrate on a book, a movie, anything. Just Google how to solve it and the lack of information that women have is unbelievable,” she said. .

After a long time with the pain, finally a doctor gave the diagnosis that some others could not give. “Nine years of this soap opera and I’ve tried everything that all kinds of doctors have said. All the tips, advice, techniques and nothing. They never asked for an MRI”, she amended.

Now that she discovered the disorder, she says she has already scheduled surgery. “And here is my appeal for more information for women. More access, more general interest in taking care of the female body so that we can be free and be able to take care of ourselves”, she concluded.

According to gynecologist Daniele Rosevics, from Plunes Centro Medico, it is a disease caused by the presence of endometrial tissue – the tissue responsible for menstruation – outside the uterus. “It can implant in the uterine ligaments, fallopian tubes, ovaries, peritoneum and even the pulmonary pleura or brain,” he explains.

Data from the National Health Surveillance Agency show that endometriosis affects approximately 10% of the Brazilian female population, being more frequent among women aged 25 to 35 years. Treatment ranges from hormone-blocking medication to surgical procedures. “Each case must be evaluated by the doctor in charge”, highlights the doctor.
