‘I’m stuck, without pooping’: Brazilian who went viral at Lisbon airport signs with businessman

There was no other. Pernambuco comedian Abdiás Melo, 43, is capitalizing on the sudden fame he gained last weekend, when he went viral when he gave a “sincere” interview to Portuguese TV amid the aerial chaos in Europe. Melo came to the world after a brief conversation with RTP reporter Ines Subtil.

Unaware that this was a live broadcast, he said, unceremoniously, that he had been stinking and wearing the same underwear for six days. Abdiás also spoke eschatologically about the functioning of his intestines. “I can only poop at home. I’m stuck, without pooping”, he complained.

Embarrassed, the reporter closed the interview by thanking her for her participation. “It’s a very graphic image of this passenger’s plight, but it’s an extended account,” she said. Off-camera, she scolded Melo – he assures her that they later became friends. The comedian credits much of the disconcerting frankness of his interview to the anger he felt at the airline when he was approached by the journalist. “I told the truth, I hated the company”.

Melo was already successful on social media with humorous videos watched by his almost 2 million followers on Instagram and TikTok even before going viral in Portuguese lands. He would also manage another comedian, Ni Do Badoque, the target of his trolls on the networks, which became successful in the United States after an American comedy program showed the pranks on television.

The comedian finally managed to return to Brazil on Sunday (3), and the next day he began to receive job offers. That’s when he decided to sign a contract with a businessman, so that he could manage his career. “My dream is to make a comedy film”, says the actor, who three months ago added the acute accent to his given name, at the suggestion of a numerologist. “It worked,” he celebrates.
