Thessaloniki is preparing to welcome this year “Evening of the researcher 2025”an event dedicated to technological research, creation and innovation. The event is part of a European initiative that, for 20 years, has been taking place in more than 400 cities throughout Europe.

The National Center for Research and Technological Development (CERTH) It continues its tradition, organizing this year’s “Researcher Night” in Thessaloniki on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Concert Hall (M1 Building). This year’s event is of particular importance, as CERTH is 25 years of operation.

The event will run from 17:00 to 22:00 and will include an interactive EKETA technologies report, highlighting the wide range of Center’s research activity. Visitors will be able to interact directly with researchers by acquiring a fresh perspective in the world of science. Exhibits will also be presented by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Agricultural Organization – DIMITRA, the University of Ioannina, the “Anna Papageorgiou Stem Center”, the International University of Greece and the Astronomy Friends Group.

To European corner of the event, visitors will be informed about European politics, research and technological development, as well as the possibilities of mobility of researchers.

Particular emphasis will be given to the ‘Market Research’with the participation of six spin-offs of CERTH and the Technology Transfer Office. The audience will know how to cut the cutting -edge technologies are transformed into innovative products and services with a substantial impact.

During the event there will be interactive experiments, scientific observations, artistic performances and actions. Special workshops for children will bring young visitors into contact with science in a creative and fun way.

Digital dialogue and events throughout Greece

Along with the central event, “Chat Lab” will be held for another year, a series of brief online discussions between researchers and the general public. The aim is to inform and better understand timely scientific issues. The chat lab started on September 22 and will run until October 3, with the participation of 51 researchers.

In addition to Thessaloniki, CERTH also coordinates the events of the “European Night of the Researcher 2025” in collaboration with local organizers in Athens (National Technical University of Athens), Heraklion (Technology and Research Foundation), Patras (University of Patras).

The “Researcher’s Night” is carried out with the support of the European Union and admission to the public is free.
