Singer Marisa Monte, 55, protested against President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during a concert in Oeiras, Portugal. The artist also praised the electronic voting machine, the target of criticism by the politician, and spoke about the importance of conscientious voting.
The public joined in choruses of “outside Bolsonaro” and expressed support for former president LuÃs Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). Amid the demonstrations, the artist said that, for her, Bolsonaro’s name would not even be mentioned at the Jardins do Marquês Festival.
“But it’s very beautiful to live in a democracy and to be able to express ourselves like this, freely. We have to defend it a lot and this year we will be able to express all our desires again in that wonderful electronic ballot box. would be here praising and defending the electronic voting machine”, began the singer.

The protests at Marisa’s show took place in the same week that singer Carlinhos Brown was criticized for interrupting shouts against Bolsonaro at one of his shows. The singer even took a position on Twitter and said that Lula is his candidate in the elections.
