This Monday morning (11) began with the sound of “Crystal Moon” on the Mais Você (Globo) program. The singer and presenter Xuxa Meneghel, 59, eternal Rainha dos Baixinhos, was with Ana Maria Braga, 73, for a vegan breakfast.

The singer started the conversation talking about Sasha Meneghel, 23. “She went through a phase where she didn’t want to look like her, obviously she wanted to have her personality”, he said about the model. Xuxa fondly remembered the cover that her daughter photographed using her classic poses as a reference. “I thought she didn’t want to look like me at all, so I got really emotional.”

Xuxa said that she spoiled her daughter to the fullest and that many said that she would “spoil” her daughter, but that did not happen. “I see no fault with her.” The artist also revealed the desire to be a grandmother, but said that her daughter and her husband, João Figueiredo, 23, have plans to have children in two years. “I’m going to give a lot of work as a grandmother”, joked the singer.

Xuxa also remembered her mother, Alda Meneghel, who was a great friend of Ana Maria. For the singer, she was a fundamental part of her entire trajectory, from when she decided to enter the fashion world. She passed away in May 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s.

Throughout the program, the two presenters watched moments of their friendship and remembered special moments between interviews, visits and cake fights. “Ridiculous is not doing it, it’s not doing it if you feel like it”, said Ana Maria.

“During the pandemic I felt like writing,” she said of her collection of four children’s books. Xuxa was at the Bienal do Livro, in São Paulo, this Sunday (10th) to talk about her projects. She also said that she will win a documentary made by Pedro Bial. “I have an absurd affection for him.”

Ana Maria prepared a vegan recipe for her friend, a vegetarian for many years who joined veganism in 2018. “There are good and bad things about veganism. We, vegamos, are against the exploitation of animals. we don’t put it on our plate,” she said. “When you don’t eat something because you’re vegan, you take away the possibility of eating something that is pain-free.”

The two tasted some vegan dishes and talked about a lentil cake. “This one was very dry,” said Ana Maria. “But then sometimes people get it wrong,” commented Xuxa, who agreed with her friend.
