“They are messy, they love to play and they crawl all over the house. And since there are two of them, we each choose one to keep an eye on.” Going after Tiê and Kim has become part of the family routine of percussionist Lan Lanh, 54, and actress Nanda Costa, 35. The twin daughters, who are now 9 months old, are no longer able to be so quiet and are getting ready to walk. for the first time.
“These are two mothers whose lives have been turned upside down and will never return to normal. But life upside down is more beautiful,” reflects Lan Lanh, who says he has a lot in common with Nanda. “I bring some patience and pour everything into the drums, she has a calm way to deal with everything.”
The drummer now confirms, in practice, the old theory that motherhood brings with it an inordinate love, in addition to teachings and challenges. Many challenges, in fact. Some more commonplace, like having to deal with the fever that Tiê had one night. Lan Lanh took it literally.
“It’s part of the teething phase, sometimes a cold arrives and we share at home. While I take care of them, Nanda rests, then reverses everything”, says she, who after two years returns to the stage for a series of presentations. by São Paulo, on July 17th and August 19th and 20th, and by Vitória da Conquista (BA), on August 27th.
Lan Lanh remembers that nothing has been easy for the two since they decided to have children. There were three attempts at fertilization until Nanda Costa managed to get pregnant. Coincidentally, she says, her period stopped at the same time as the woman’s, which made her feel pretty much the same pregnancy symptoms as the actress — and that brought them even closer together.
“Being a mother at 50 brings reflections. What changes is that from now on there is no longer ‘me’, only ‘us’. I always had this maternal gift with my nephews and friends, in the way of caring. . We never knew the best moment, especially for always being on the road, but now it has been difficult, but transformative”, he reveals.
The artist says that sometimes she needs to book and schedule a date with Nanda in advance, and for that, she has a very loyal support network. People who hold the ends with the babies so that the two can date a little – the famous vale night. “Motherhood is beautiful, but we need both of us. Sleep deprivation and tiredness are crazy. Now, in every moment together, we are like a dick in the trash”, laughs the percussionist.
