Mara Maravilha criticizes Daniela Mercury and sends a message: ‘Don’t put my name in your mouth’

Mara Maravilha, 53, harshly criticized Daniela Mercury. Former children’s presenter and currently hired by SBT, she has not hidden that she is disappointed with the singer from Bahia, whom she accused of being disrespectful to Jesus during a recent performance.

“You can take a video of Daniela there, where she disrespected the Lord Jesus Christ and homosexuals. She disrespected when she said: ‘Because Jesus is gay’. Is she offending gays? What do you mean? What’s the problem?… ‘ Jesus, he’s v#$%’. It’s on the internet. ‘Jesus, he’s a fag.’

“I am for peace and love, but there are things that are hypocritical. It’s not because of her sexual preference, or anyone else’s. It’s not because of politics, nor am I defending Lula or Bolsonaro. It’s for Brazil and for respect. What she did left me choking: “Daniela, I’m ashamed that one day I was the first person who introduced you on television to the Brazilian scene,” added Mara.

Only in April of this year, a video in which Daniela said that “Jesus is gay” during a show was nothing more than a montage and she was actually referring to Renato Russo, who died in 1996. “My friend Renato Russo was gay, gay, very gay, very fag, very fag, yes!”, said the singer during the Garanhuns Winter Festival, in Pernambuco, in 2018.

Mara also accused Daniela of only attending the LGBT Parade in São Paulo, when she allegedly receives a fee. “That came to me. It came that she appears when she receives the fee.
