New Scholars with modern and current subjects of study now belong to the large Community of more than 2,500 Scholars
Dreams begin for the 50th consecutive year at the Bodosaki Foundation for 69 young women and men who receive a scholarship to continue their studies at the master’s, doctoral or postdoctoral level during the 2022-2023 academic year.
This year is a double anniversary year as it marks 50 years of activity of the Bodosakis Foundation and at the same time 50 years of offering scholarships. The new scholars with modern and current subjects of study now belong to the large Community of more than 2,500 Scholars who each chart their own path, with a common starting point of the Foundation’s scholarship and common characteristics of high academic performance, distinct intellectual abilities and passion for their scientific field.
Of the 69 new scholarships, 36 pertain to Postgraduate Studies and 29 to Doctoral Research within the framework of the 50th Regular Scholarship Program, while 4 scholarships are also included for Postdoctoral Research in accordance with the Postdoctoral Research Scholarship Program in memory of “Stamatis G. Mantzavinos”, former President of the Foundation. Of these, 54 will study in Europe and America and 15 will study in Greek universities.
The above scholarships include for the first time the “Scholarship of the Scholars”, an additional scholarship offered following the Foundation’s scholarship initiative. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the scholarship program, scholars of the Foundation created a crowdfunding campaign to gather donations of scholars from previous years. With the money raised, another scholarship is being funded by the scholarship community, an initiative that demonstrates in practice the shared value framework and the connection of the Bodosaki Foundation scholarship holders.
With an eye to the future, in 2022 the Scholarship Programs of the Bodosakis Foundation were renewed, with the aim of promoting interdisciplinarity and the inclusion of specialized scientific fields that respond to contemporary needs. Also, the age limits at which one can apply to both the Regular Fellowship Program and the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program have been increased.
