Because you need stretching in your daily life even if you do not exercise

by

Maybe there is a (wrong) impression that if you do not exercise stretching or stretching is not something necessary in your daily life.

Stretching is essentially stretching your body to relieve tension in muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments, says Austin Martinez, MS, CSCS, ATC, Certified Fitness Specialist and Director of Training at StretchLab .

“I advise people to ‘stretch’ every day. It doesn’t have to be long, but even 10 minutes can make a huge difference in how you feel.”

Experts generally recommend regular stretching as they say the effects of their lack will be noticeable after a while.

When you are physically active, your muscles tend to get smaller because they contract. But your muscles can also shrink when you sit at your desk for too many hours at a time.

Either way, this inactivity destroys your overall mobility, resulting in a smaller range of motion.

We have said many times about the benefits of stretching, but once is never enough.

Stretching relaxes the stiff muscles
One of the most immediate and noticeable benefits of stretching is the way they relieve stiff muscles, something you can do on a regular basis if you lead a sedentary lifestyle.

The incorporation of short stretches daily, will relax your muscles and will help you not only to move better, but also to feel better.

Stretching helps prevent and relieve pain
Stretching plays a key role in avoiding the stiffness or stiffness associated with training – so it is a key element of a proper fitness routine.

Once you have finished a workout, static stretching is necessary and not selective.

Stretching helps reduce the risk of injury
Some studies have shown that stretching can help prevent stiff muscle injuries, something you should keep in mind when exercising.

When our bodies are rigid, they do not move efficiently. But stretching on a regular basis can improve flexibility, reduce tension in the body and thus reduce the chance of muscle strain or joint injury.

Stretching makes you better in sports
“Okay, stretching may not make you ‘magically’ better in sports, but it can improve athletic performance, again increasing your joint mobility as well as your very important range of motion,” says Austin Martinez.

Stretching improves posture
“If you do stretching on a daily or regular basis you can expect your posture to improve,” says Lauren Arps, a certified yoga instructor.

The body has a memory and after a while it will “remember” the correct posture of the body, as well as it will “remember” when it has to correct its posture on its own.

Just think that the first move you make unconsciously in the morning as soon as you wake up is to stretch. Which is addictive. Admit it!
