The Music Midtown festival which was scheduled to be held in Atlanta in September, it was cancelled, for reasons that here in Europe of course seem outrageous to us. Among others, My Chemical Romance, Jack White, Fallout Boy, Turnstile and A Day To Remember would play.
Although the organizers did not go into details about the cancellation, reports say that the decision played a key role, failure to ban gun ownership on the festival grounds following a 2019 court order.

The decision concerns public land. If the space has a long lease then the tenant can decide whether to allow guns, but if we are talking about using the space for a short period of time, such as the Piedmont Park festival, then things get complicated and the gun lobby is ready to initiate legal proceedings.
The law therefore created a loophole, which gives the right to anyone who has bought a ticket and is not allowed to enter because they are carrying a weapon, to sue the organizers. Live Nation, which organizes the festival, is now considering options for the future with the possibility of finding a private venue to hold it, as it apparently does not want guns inside the festival.
