Justice files Dani Calabresa’s criminal complaint against Marcius Melhem

The Justice of São Paulo filed this Friday (3) the criminal complaint of Dani Calabresa against Marcius Melhem. The actress tried to judicially prevent the former director of Globo’s humor center from showing WhatsApp messages exchanged by the two, before the complaint of moral and sexual harassment that she and seven other women made of the actor. In January 2020, the group filed a lawsuit incriminating Melhem of abuse.

The São Paulo Court of Justice understood that Calabresa could not prohibit Melhem from disclosing material in his defense. Judge Fabricio Reali Iza, from the Special Criminal Court of Barra Funda (TJSP), accepted and agreed with the request of the State Attorney General’s Office to close the criminal complaint. The action is no longer subject to appeal.

According to Ricardo Feltrin’s column at UOL, this decision is only related to messages. The process of collective denunciation of harassment continues at DEAM (Special Police Station for Assistance to Women), in Rio, with no deadline to end.

In December 2019, the then head of Globo’s humor department was accused of moral and sexual harassment by Calabresa and other actresses. In March of the following year, Melhem took leave to follow the medical treatment of one of his daughters in the United States. Five months later, he had his definitive departure from the station communicated to the press through an email.

THE Sheetin December 2020, Marcius Melhem had already shown the messages exchanged with Calabresa to prove, in court, that the two had an intimate and friendly relationship between the years 2017 and 2019, at which time, according to a report published in the Piauí magazine , he would have harassed her morally and sexually.
