Actress Noemi Gerbelli, who played director Olívia Veidar in the soap opera “Carrousel” (SBT, 2012), died at the age of 68 this Wednesday (1). The information was confirmed by her niece, actress Vanessa Gerbelli, 48, in an Instagram post.
“Certain pains are mute. Today this person who is so important in my life is gone. He opened my paths to the theater and was, in many moments of my youth, a teacher, a protector. Noemi Gerbelli, actress from São Paulo, my aunt. Stay. with God and the angels,” wrote the artist.
On social networks, artists mourned the death of the veteran. “Thank you for all the teachings. Rest in peace,” wrote actor Mateus Ueta, who played Kokimoto in the children’s soap opera. “My feelings, eternal Naomi! Great actress! She always taught us!”, added Thomaz Costa.
“Damn, director… that hurt. A great woman, a great actress! It was an honor to be part of at least a little bit of your long career! I’ll miss you… be at peace, Nono!”, published Nicholas Torres, who lived Jaime in the plot.
Actress Ilana Kaplan also left a tribute. “My partner in ‘Carousel’ and in ‘Patrulha Salvadora’. What sad news of your departure. I learned and had a lot of fun with you. Brazil is losing an extraordinary actress. You will be sorely missed,” he said.
Among other works by the artist are “Presença de Anita” (2001), “Os Normais” (2002), “A Diarista” (2007), “A Favorita” (2008), “Sansão e Dalila” (2011) and “Carinha of Angel” (2017). His last work in soap operas was on the Globo screen, with “Deus Salve o Rei” (2018).
In the cinema, the veteran has been in films such as “A Marvada Carne” (1985), “O Dia M” (2008) and in two features derived from the soap opera “Carousel”, “Carousel: O Filme” (2015) and “Carousel 2: The Disappearance of Maria Joaquina” (2016).
