This Tuesday morning (9), Fátima and Amanda, mother and sister of Leandro Lo were live on the program Encontro com Patrícia Poeta. The jiu-jitsu champion was killed after being shot in the head, in the early hours of last Sunday (7), at a club in São Paulo.
“It’s a very difficult time, everyone knows. Yesterday was his burial, there were a lot of people in the cemetery. I received a lot of comfort and love, everyone there loved Leandro. All the love they had for him, they transferred to me”, said Fátima .
She said the last time she spoke to her son was on Saturday night, inviting her to her grandmother’s house on Sunday. Even though she didn’t know he was going to the show, she knew he was going out with a friend. “Now there are the good memories and the revolt of everything that happened”, she added.
Amanda, the athlete’s sister, commented on the relationship she had with Leandro. “We were very close, we were flesh and blood. He was in love with my son, and my son with him. I lost my best friend, my partner, the love of my life. I am very angry, I want justice, this man [o tenente] does not deserve to exercise this profession”.
Fátima added by saying that she would like to make sure that the lieutenant is held accountable and judged for what he did. “I wanted to be sure that he will pay for what he did. Human justice is very flawed, we know”, he added.
The athlete’s mother also commented on the crowdfunding disclosed on Monday (8) by João Vicente de Castro, also at the Meeting. “I didn’t know the intention of this kitty, and I was upset, because we don’t need to. The Lo family is fine,” she added.
Fátima also said that the club where the show took place has not yet contacted the family. “I’m sorry about his mother. [o tenente da Polícia Militar], because nobody wants a child like that. But he has to pay for what he did, because my son was wonderful, a warrior. His life was very difficult.”
