Actor Johnny Depp, 59, has signed a new contract with Dior, the French luxury brand. According to the website TMZ, the deal is millionaire and would have happened after the court victory of the star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, 36.
The publication says that Depp will be the face of the men’s perfume Sauvage. The contract would have been consolidated after Dior executives and famous fashion photographer, Greg Williams, attended one of the rock concerts that the actor played.
Depp would have even taken photos for the campaign. The actor had already signed with Dior in 2015, also as the face of the same perfume, however, according to the website, after Heard’s first accusations against the artist, the commercials stopped being shown on television.
In early June, the jury ruled in Depp’s favor in the defamation lawsuit he was bringing against his ex-wife, who accused him of domestic violence. Under the ruling, Depp was to receive US$10 million (R$48.1 million) in compensatory damages and US$5 million (R$24 million) in punitive damages.
But the actress won part of the lawsuit and, for that, would receive US$ 2 million (R$ 9.6 million), for Depp’s lawyer having accused her of making up a story for the police under the direction of her lawyer and publicist.
