Presenter Ellen DeGeneres, 64, showed support for ex-girlfriend Anne Heche, 53, after the actress suffered an accident that left her in a coma in a hospital. However, the comedian also made it clear that she does not keep in touch with the artist.
According to the Los Angeles Times website, a photographer from the Daily Mail newspaper asked DeGeneres if she knew more about the actress’ health status. “We’re not in contact with each other so I wouldn’t know,” she replied. “I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
The presenter and actress dated for three years, from 1997 to 2000. In 2001, a year after the breakup, DeGeneres gave an interview to The Times newspaper and stated that “that was the first time I had my heart broken”.
According to a statement, Heche is in an extremely critical condition, with burns all over his body, lung injuries and breathing aids. The artist was driving at high speed when she lost control and crashed into a house, causing a fire in the place.
Now, Los Angeles police have obtained a warrant to test Heche’s blood to investigate whether the actress was drunk or drugged while driving last Friday (5), the day the accident occurred.
