Actress Anne Heche, 53, has been officially declared brain dead. Family members told the Daily Mail that she will be removed from life support after it is determined whether any of her organs can be donated, which the artist wanted.

She was hospitalized at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital after suffering a severe brain anoxia injury. On August 5, the actress was driving at high speed in Los Angeles when she lost control and crashed into a house, causing a fire in the place.

In a statement sent to People on Thursday night, a representative for Heche and her family thanked “everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thanked the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who looked after Anne “.

“Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit. More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work – especially moving the needle to acceptance of those you love. will be remembered for her courageous honesty and greatly missed for her light.”

Also on Thursday night, sources with the Los Angeles Police Department told TMZ that the actress’ blood test results showed that she was under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl when she suffered the accident.

Known for films like “Six Days and Seven Nights” (1998) and “Volcano” (1997), Heche’s story includes a difficult childhood, having been sexually abused by her father, and a relationship that became a sensation in the late 1990s, with host Ellen DeGeneres, 64.

Born in Ohio, the artist was the youngest of four siblings. She started working when she was 12 years old, to help her family. In 2001, she spoke on CNN’s Larry King show about her father’s childhood abuse — as well as her sexuality and his death, shortly after the family discovered he had AIDS in the early 1980s.

Heche’s artistic career began at the age of 17, when she received an offer to do the soap opera “Another World”. Then came several successful series, such as “Ally McBeall” (1997-2002), “Everywood” (2002-2006) and “Men in Trees” (2006-2008). It was behind the scenes of the latter that she struck up a romance with actor James Tupper, with whom she had a son, Atlas, 13. She has another son, Romer, 20.

The actress also had a relationship with presenter Ellen DeGeneres. The two dated for three years, from 1997 to 2000, and the day after the breakup was announced, she was hospitalized after knocking on a stranger’s house, appearing disoriented and talking nonsense.

Recently, the presenter and ex-girlfriend of the actress stated that she did not keep in touch with her after the breakup. “We’re not in contact with each other, so I wouldn’t know,” she said, when approached by a Daily Mail photographer about updates on the artist’s health. “I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
