THE Ayoub El Kaabi continues to write with golden letters his name in the history of Olympiakos and the Super League.
With the two goals he scored in the victory in Larissa (2-0) for the 7th matchday, the Moroccan striker reached 40 goals in the Greek league, equaling a record previously held by two great figures of the “red and whites”: the Rivaldo and him Youssef El Arabi.
El Kaabi became just the third footballer to make his Super League debut over the age of 30 and reached the milestone of 40 goals.
This success becomes even more important when you consider that the Moroccan has only played in an Olympiakos shirt since the 2023-24 season, having already developed into one of the most prolific strikers in the club’s history.
The first one who achieved this feat was o Rivaldowho made his Super League debut in 2004 at the age of 32 and scored a total of 48 goals36 of which with Olympiakos.
He was followed by Youssef El Arabiwhich also appeared in Piraeus at the age of 32 and recorded 53 goals in the Greek league, all with the “red and white”.
El Kaabi made his Super League debut on August 20, 2023in the Olympiacos – Panserraikos match (2-0), and scored his first goal in just two weeks later against Lamia (4-0). Since then, he hasn’t stopped scoring.
Most, with 40 league goals and 65 overall in all competitions, the Moroccan is:
• In 24th place of Olympiakos’ top scorers in the A’ National League,
• And 23rd all-time in the 100 years of the club’s history, having in front of him only historical names such as Karapialis, Protasov and Triantafyllos.
