BBB23: Susana Vieira is left out of the list of the Camarote group; know why

Susana Vieira’s name has appeared frequently in the lists of possible participants of the next Big Brother Brazil. Spontaneous, foul-mouthed and short-tempered, she would have the right profile to enter the 23rd edition of Globo’s reality show. But that will not happen because of an internal recommendation from the broadcaster.

Officially, the direction of the program does not impose an age limit when applying for candidates for vacancies in the Pipoca group (made up of anonymous people) or among the celebrities selected by the production for the Camarote group. As a rule, it is enough to be of legal age and to reside in Brazil.

But, internally, the recommendation for those who cast the reality show is to avoid participants over 70 years old – and Susana will turn 80 on August 23rd. The team’s concern is that someone has health problems during confinement, as happened with the supermarket cashier Marielza, at BBB5.

At the age of 46, she was chosen by lot to enter the house and stayed only nine days in the program because she suffered a Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA). She was rushed to a hospital, where she stayed until she recovered – and from there she went straight to her house, in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. Marielza did not return to reality.

After her, Globo even insisted on some editions with participants of the third age as Ieda Wobeto on BBB17, who entered the reality at the age of 70. In 2009, Naná, then 61, and Norberto, two years older, entered the house. Harumi, 64, participated in BBB16, as did Grandma Geralda, 63.

But in recent years, the idea of ​​betting on older candidates has lost steam. The heavier atmosphere among the candidates, the tough resistance tests and, consequently, the higher level of stress due to the dynamics, made the directors re-evaluate the idea of ​​having representatives of an older age.

Boninho, by the way, is with a part of the BBB23 team in the first in-person selective of pre-candidates in Porto Alegre. The director shared some videos showing some dynamics and the interaction of people. In none of the images appear candidates who are in the group of over 60 years.
