Will Smith, 53, is back in talks with Netflix for a biopic just weeks after he apologized again for slapping Chris Rock, 57., on stage at the Oscars in March of this year, according to the Daily Mail.
A source told The Sun that at least one major corporation is now open to doing business with Smith. After the attack on the comedian, negotiations with Netflix and Apple TV+ were interrupted.
On July 29, Smith issued another apology to Rock and revealed that his ex-friend still hasn’t forgiven him for slapping him on stage at the Oscars. He said it took him the last three months to ‘work’ this out on himself and realized now how many people he hurt when he slapped Rock.
“I contacted Chris and the message came back that he’s not ready to talk, but when he is he will get in touch. So I’ll tell you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here when you want to talk.
He apologized to Rock’s mother and younger brother Tony. “I just didn’t realize how many people were hurt in that moment, so I want to apologize to Chris’ mom. I want to apologize.”
