The death of influencer Belly Palma, at age 29, touched celebrities who knew and admired the model and activist for inclusive fashion for people with disabilities.
Belly gasped on Friday and then went into cardiac arrest. After receiving first aid, she was taken to a hospital and remained hospitalized until Monday (29), when she died. The burial will be this Wednesday (31), at Morumby Cemetery, at 11:30 am.
“No, no, we were not together on Friday”, lamented the singer Preta Gil. “Belly, my beautiful. Now brightening the sky with her unique smile”, said presenter Isabella Fiorentino. “I don’t believe it. My feelings, lots of light, go in peace”, wished the singer Di Ferrero.
Belly was born with a spinal cord malformation, popularly known as myelomeningocele. He underwent 35 surgeries in his lifetime, one of them shortly after birth. Because of the condition, he was in a wheelchair.
Graduated in business administration, she worked as an inclusive business consultant focused on inclusive fashion, speaker, influencer, model and digital content creator.
For two years, from 2019 to 2021, she led the inclusive fashion course of the State Department for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
“She enlightened with her knowledge and projects. That’s why we leave a fair tribute to her entire trajectory and legacy, which will always remain among us”, said, in a note, the secretary where Belly worked. “She was recognized for her work on behalf of people with disabilities, as well as being an example of a strong and enterprising woman.”
According to Paulo Borges, creator of São Paulo Fashion Week, Belly was a reference for everyone.
In the latest Instagram post, she appeared stylish at a party, dressed as a “pearl nomad”.
