Colombian singer J Balvin, 37, did not miss the opportunity to tie and take selfies with Pope Francis, 85, after a meeting on Thursday (1st). He and other artists were at the Vatican to attend the Vitae Foundation Summit, which aims to discuss ways to uplift society and culture through art.

“I’m sure he likes reggaeton. If he likes football, he likes reggaeton. I was talking to him and we had a really good connection, I’m going to give him a record,” J Balvin told the press after meeting the pope Francis.

Elegant in a black suit, the singer appeared to be at home sitting in an empty chair next to the pope, who wore his white robes. The musician happily turned to the pontiff, pulled out a cell phone and began taking selfies and recording a video of the interaction with the pontiff.

After the meeting, the singer shook the pope’s hand and said a few words that were not heard by the press. He also shared photos and video of the meeting on Instagram and praised the pope. “Always high vibe, love and tolerance.”

Netizens commented on the singer’s meeting with the pontiff. “I loved you more, how nice to meet the pope not because of his religious status, but because he is a good leader and overcomes the regulations of a church,” wrote a netizen in the singer’s Instagram post.

“Now reggaeton is in the Vatican, amen”, commented another user of the social network. “Put it on the Whats App profile [a foto]”, suggested an internet user. “There’s a song with Pope Francis with feat de Balvin”, joked a follower.
