Leo DiCaprio’s ex criticizes age comments: ‘Life gets better after 25’

by

The end of the relationship of Leonardo DiCaprio, 47, with model Camila Morrone, 25, at the end of August, generated more than regret for the fans of the couple. The breakup spawned memes and fueled an old theory that the Hollywood star only dates women under the age of 25.

Faced with the repercussion, Kristen Zang, 48, who dated the actor between 1995 and 1999, decided to talk about it and, despite the fact that their romance ended when she was 25 years old, she says that the decision to end it was hers, not DiCaprio’s.

Now a businesswoman, married and living in Oregon, in the United States, the former model told People magazine that she has always been discreet about her life and the romance she had with the actor, but after reading the recent headlines about him, she decided to speak out.

“Leo was a very sweet and caring boyfriend but we also had some hard times like all couples and we broke up in 1997 but got back together. So about 4 months after my 25th birthday it was over. choice I made.”

“I can’t explain it, I just felt like I was ready for our relationship to end,” she continued. “It was like I was over that version of myself, the high school girl from Hollywood. I wanted to find out who I was and what I wanted.”

Zang criticized the news about Leonardo DiCaprio’s recent breakup that cited age and aging. “What kind of message is this sending to young people?” she asked, stating that no one knows how his and Morrone’s romance ended.

“Maybe she was ready for the next chapter, maybe it’s temporary [a separação]or maybe it’s none of our business, but can we stop the old headlines and comments?”

“So you young people listen up. Life gets a lot better after 25. Yes, you get more wrinkles, but you also get more confidence and more self-love,” she said. In her social networks, she also added, stating that “women do not expire at 25”.
