79th Venice Film Festival Awards: Golden Lion to ‘All the Beauty and the Bloodshed’

The 79th Venice Film Festival awards have been handed out.

Here is the list of main winners:

Golden Lion for Best Film: “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed” by Laura Poitras (USA)

Silver Lion-Grand Jury Prize and Lion of the Future-Best First Film: “Saint-Omer” by Alice Diop (France)

Silver Lion -Director Award: to the Italian Luca Guadagnino for the film “Bones and all”.

Best Actress Award: Australian Cate Blanchett for her role in Todd Field’s ‘Tàr’.

Best Actor Award: Ireland’s Colin Farrell for his role in Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin.

Marcello Mastroianni Award for Emerging Actress: to actress Taylor Russell for her role in Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Bones and all’.

Special Jury Prize: “The Bears Don’t Exist”, by Jafar Panahi (Iran)

Best Screenplay Award: “The Banshees of Inisherin” by Ireland’s Martin McDonagh.
