A military officer Lucas Souza, 21, husband of Jojo Todynho, 25, did not like the bad joke that comedian Nego Di, 28, made about the singer’s photo on the cover of Glamor magazine. In the photo shoot, she incorporates a mermaid using as a reference the new movie “The Little Mermaid”, in which the actress who plays Ariel is black.
Nego Di posted a video on social media mocking Jojo’s photo. “Why do Brazilians do this and mix up all the stories? Everyone is there, the little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Geppetto. Can’t you see? Everyone is there, she swallowed everyone”, said the comedian.
Souza posted a series of videos on Instagram stories saying that Nego Di didn’t make fun of Jojo. “It was fatphobic and prejudiced,” said the military man. He denounced the comedian on social networks for bullying and prejudice and asked netizens to do the same to take down the profile. “It has to cancel, be cancelled,” said Jojo’s husband.
The military said that the singer is beautiful on the cover of the magazine and that he will not accept mockery with the woman’s body. “It was one of the most beautiful pictures she [Jojo] did. Showing the real body of a woman who represents Brazilian women,” said Souza.
Ever since Jojo married the military man, he has been the target of prejudice. The singer has already taken to social media to counter accusations that Souza got married out of interest and that she plays the husband. “I’m going to refresh people’s memory. My husband is an army officer. My husband is in two colleges,” Jojo said in a video posted on social media in July of this year.
