After a lot of hurt and strong statements, Britney Spears, 40, and her father, Jamie Spears, 70, are ready to end the legal dispute they have had since the singer got rid of his guardianship, which she was subjected to since 2008. The information is from the TMZ website.
In the lawsuit, Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, accuses Jamie and the company Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, which managed the singer’s assets during the conservatorship, of misappropriating large amounts of money from the artist, which they deny.
According to TMZ, representatives of Jamie and Tri Star came to look for Rosengart, after the end of the guardianship, but the lawyer rejected any kind of agreement. Now it was Rosengart who sought them out to put an end to the process. For that, however, Jamie and Tri Star would have to pay US$ 7 million (R$ 37 million).
It was the amount of compensation to the singer that caused a new impasse between the parties, but, according to the publication, the two would still be willing to close the action. Representatives for Jamie and Tri Star questioned Rosengart about how he arrived at the asking amount, but the lawyer would not have given details.
Although things are moving towards an agreement regarding Britney’s legal disputes with her father, on her social media, she has shown that the heartache continues and even said that she prays that her parents “burn in hell”.
“It’s extremely hard for me to accept the fact that my family did this to me. To my mom and dad who sat and hid coffee from me at home for me to wake up and feel dead and scared, I will say it out loud and proud : I pray you burn in hell.”
“Now my kids keep saying, ‘She’s not good enough, she wants attention.’ Yes, I want to be heard and I’m angry,” he said. “Somewhat subconsciously I want to offend people because I’ve been offended so much. But I’m afraid to inform you [os filhos] that I’m not willing to see them until I feel valued.”
