The movie would be based on the Dallas Sting women’s soccer coach Bill Kinder. McConaughey was set to star as Kinder in the film.

According to the Daily Mail, the film was canceled after complaints against Kinder were sent to the production company. In a letter from an unidentified source, Kinder was accused of calling the players “inappropriate nicknames” and touching one of them “over her clothes.”

Speaking to the newspaper, Kinder denied the allegations and said the letter “was quite encrypted”.
