The life of the late Olivia Newton-John, best known for her starring role in the movie musical Grease, is being honored with a new comic from TidalWave Comics.

The 34-page biographical comic will be released on September 21st with illustrations by Alessandro Miracolo and Pablo Martinena, script by Sandra Rackdessel and afterword by Michael Frizzell. The book will be available in digital and print formats.

On September 26, the Anglo-Australian actress and singer, if she were alive, would have celebrated her 74th birthday.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the comic will go to the Foundation that bears her name (Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund) for cancer research.

Olivia Newton-John was born in Cambridge, England in 1948 and moved, when she was six years old, with her family to Melbourne, Australia. He won four Grammy Awards and several American Music Awards.

He starred as Sandy in the 1970s film-musical ‘Grease’. As a singer she had many hits, such as ‘Physical’ and ‘Twist of Fate’.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, she underwent a mastectomy, but had two relapses in 2013 and 2017 with metastases. She worked tirelessly to raise public awareness of breast cancer and the Foundation pioneered ways to combat the disease and its often painful symptoms.

“Writing the Olivia Newton-John comic was a dream come true for me. I grew up idolizing Olivia and still do as an adult. She is the epitome of grace, kindness and love. Researching her life story for this comic wasn’t work, it was joy! And to have the opportunity to create a story and images to express what he represents to the world was an honor,” said author Sandra Rackdessel.
