Fans of Aaron Carter, 34, called the police after suspecting an overdose after he went live from his home in Lancaster, California, United States. According to the website TMZ, police and fire department agents went to the scene and found that the artist was fine.
The episode took place on Tuesday (20), but only came to the public now. The police initially had difficulty proving the singer’s well-being, but after a few attempts they managed to get in touch with him, who claimed he had not answered the authorities because he was sleeping.
Despite netizens’ suspicion that the singer would be using drugs during the live, agents who were at his home did not find any signs of narcotics. The artist, brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, later said that the sounds fans heard on the live was a joke.
Aaron recently stated that he has been clean of drugs for five years and that he has been attending support group meetings to avoid addiction. Asked by TMZ about the episode, he reaffirmed that it was a joke. “I’m tired of people coming after me, so I trolled everyone.”
Last month, netizens also called the police after tiktoker Gabbie Hanna, who goes by the name “Trauma Queen”, made a series of bizarre posts. Police officers and an average team visited her, but attested that she posed no danger to herself.
