‘One Tree Hill’ star reveals she was a victim of domestic violence

Star of one of the most popular series in the 2000s, ‘One Tree Hill’, Jana Kramer took to social media to reveal that she suffered domestic violence. The actress decided to vent in support of the Domestic Violence Awareness Month movement, now in October in the United States. She wanted to warn other women about the abuse.

Jana, 38, does not identify the abuser, but says she was only 19 years old when she had a relationship with a man 17 years her senior and with whom she got married in secret. The actress begins by reporting the suffering from a photo published next to her mother. “What was behind the smile [da foto] It’s something I still have trouble talking about,” he says.

“What I remember when I saw this image was a girl destroyed inside. Weeks before, I was trapped on the floor while the man who said he loved me strangled me and threatened to kill me”, she says that follows: “I was so full of shame, that no one would believe me and that the reason I was strangled or beaten up. It was because I was bad! It was because I was wrong and I deserved it,” she notes.

Jana Kramer still reveals that it was not her last abusive relationship and regrets that it took her time to get rid of the weight of thinking she deserved it all. “You don’t deserve abuse. You don’t deserve any form of abuse… physical, sexual, mental, verbal, financial, emotionally abusive relationships etc. This is all abuse”, explains the actress who last year divorced her husband Miike Caussin. , with whom he exchanged rings in 2015. The ex-couple has two children together: Jolie (6 years old) and Jace (3 years old).
