He also claimed former prime minister Boris Johnson had to “almost die and have a baby” before hearing his view on school lunches.

Jamie Oliver re-enters politics and says he is ready to “fight” Liz Truss and the “lousy” Tory party over free school meals.

The celebrity chef, in an interview with the BBC, declared war on the Truss over free school meals, suggesting the Conservatives are once again the party of… “bad guys”, while predicting the Truss will soon be ousted from Downing Street.

The father of five also said he has no confidence in Liz Truss and predicted she would soon lose her job. “I have no confidence in her. We’ve been following her views for six, seven years, she’s not going to change. It will be a “ship that passes in the night”. Actually, I’m pretty calm about the whole thing.”

Insinuating that the Tories will be outvoted at the next election, partly because they don’t prioritize children, the millionaire chef said the Tories are becoming unpleasant. “I think kindness has to creep into this party if they have any hope, and I don’t know if they have it in them.” He added: “I have been through six prime ministers and 13 ministers of education. None of them took the issue of children’s health seriously.”

He also claimed that former prime minister Boris Johnson had to “almost die and have a child” before he listened to his view on school meals and did the right thing.

However, Oliver denied to the reporter that he is part of the “anti-growth coalition”, a term coined by Liz Truss for her critics. “I’m not. I’ve spent a lifetime not only employing over 20,000 people, but also traveling the world and saying how brilliant Britain is.’

Critics of the celebrity chef, and staunch supporters of Liz Truss, have pointed out that they are still waiting for Oliver to leave Britain after he said in 2016 that he would leave the UK if Boris Johnson became prime minister after winning the Brexit vote.

“We have an incredible country, but to do quick trade deals, to the lowest common denominator and threaten British agriculture and British producers is completely insane. The reality is, if you talk to the best minds in economics, in the country, in the world, they will tell you that if you have healthy children, you will have a more productive, more profitable country, a better GDP.”

The celebrity chef wants 800,000 more children to receive free school meals, but reckons that’s not going to happen, so he’s ready for battle!
