The National Opera announces a new hearing for interpreters for the needs of the project “Arrow”, which will be presented in January-February 2023. The audition will take place on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Energy Agency at the SNFCC (364 Syngrou St.) and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
As stated in the ELLS announcement, the audition is for the selection of all three roles of transgender women in the project (Strella, Mary, Vilma) and is addressed to to transgender female performers of any vocal category and age, with acting and vocal abilities. According to the announcement, the final musical text of the performance will be adapted according to the vocal profile of the selected artists. Basic knowledge of music will be helpful.
Participants are asked to perform a song of their choice from any genre of music, and optionally an excerpt of a lyrical or classical song. They will also be asked to perform the short excerpt of the work that will be sent to them electronically after submitting the audition request.
For the needs of learning this passage, the ELLS will give the participants who wish it the possibility of an hour-long musical preparation meeting with its partners until Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
As noted in the notice, the Hearing Committee has discretion to shorten the hearing, and the hearing may be videotaped for archival purposes.
For those candidates who live abroad or in the province and cannot be physically present, they will be allowed to participate online through a specific platform on the days and hours when the audition is announced.
Those interested should complete the respective application, as well as the declaration of consent, and provide a CV with a photo, from the official website of the Greek National Opera, www.nationalopera.gr (NEWS – ANNOUNCEMENTS category). The declaration of consent should be completed by the interested parties after consulting the CV policy of ELLS.
The successful candidates and their respective roles will be announced on the ELLS website. According to the announcement, ELLS is committed to the observance of absolute confidentiality regarding the personal data of the applicants. Access to the applications will only be granted to the necessary persons within the ELLS who are authorized for this and no third party.
This notice supersedes the notice of September 29, 2022, and therefore the hearing scheduled for October 14 is postponed and postponed.
