Justice ordered the release of actor José Dumont, 72. The information was confirmed to the F5 by the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro. From now on, he will have to be monitored by an electronic anklet. He spent less than a month in prison.

The decision on release was made by the 3rd Criminal Chamber, in a trial session. The process is under judicial secrecy. According to the TJ, the preventive detention was removed because the actor is being prosecuted for the crime of storing images of pornographic scenes).

According to the Criminal Procedure Code, pre-trial detention is not allowed in this situation. However, he will have to comply with alternative precautionary measures, such as electronic monitoring.

Actor José Dumont was arrested on September 15 in Rio de Janeiro on suspicion of storing images of sex involving children, a crime provided for in article 241-B of the ECA (Statute of Children and Adolescents).

The arrest was red-handed. Dumont was already the subject of an investigation in an inquiry at the Dcav (Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station), for the crime of rape of a vulnerable person. He was arrested in the apartment where he lived in Flamengo.

According to the police, a lawyer accompanied him throughout the procedure at the police station – the report was unable to locate him.

According to the Civil Police, he would have used the prestige of being an actor to attract a 12-year-old teenager, who would be his fan.

With more than 40 years of career, Dumont acted in films, soap operas and series. He was in the cast of the next one of “All Flowers”, a soap opera to be shown on Globoplay. However, after the arrest, TV Globo stated that it decided to remove him from the work.
