Meghan Markle, 41, was spotted shopping with a friend in Montecito, United States, on Friday (21). The appearance comes a week after the Duchess of Sussex became embroiled in controversy when she said on her Archetype podcast that she left “Deal or No Deal” because she felt objectified as a stagehand on the game show.
On the outing with her friend, Meghan wore a strapless green Malia Mills jumpsuit, which she paired with an olive green sweater, a large brown hat, sunglasses and flat sandals. She completed the look with a braid.
The duchess – who was also accompanied by a driver and a security guard – was carrying merchandise from Wendy Foster, an upscale women’s fashion boutique specializing in sportswear.
Meghan appeared to take advantage of the tour to relax after receiving numerous criticisms, among them, from celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg who said the Duchess’s words can make other women feel bad. “I don’t know if the people who were sitting there watching the show think of the assistants that way. The objectification can come from you,” she said.
“To clarify: yes, getting a job as a model, in a TV contest, doesn’t necessarily happen because it has to do with your intellect,” added Whoopi.
