Yasmin Brunet makes a complaint for threat, injury and slander after accusations on the web

by

Yasmin Brunet, 34, was on Wednesday afternoon (26) at the Cyber Crimes Division of the Civil Police of São Paulo. The model and digital influencer, who had been accused on social media of kidnapping and human trafficking, registered a police report for threats, injury and slander.

The story has been floating around the internet for a few weeks now. The alleged complaint came from a model named Letícia Maia, who said that the fact would have occurred 2 years ago. She claimed to have escaped from captivity in the United States, where Luiza Brunet’s daughter would be involved in a prostitution scheme “that moves millions of dollars”.

Accompanied by lawyer Robson Cunha do Nascimento Junior, she detailed how the story would have emerged. The model claims that she joined an Instagram live in which Leticia reported that she had run away from home, motivated by abuse she had suffered from her father, and asked people not to bother her. After that, the girl would have started to spread the missing information about her.

Last week, Yasmin said that she had spoken to lawyers in Brazil and the United States and promised that she would take legal action against the girl, in addition to denying involvement in the alleged crimes. “I got into this story looking to help, but now seeing this mess they’re making, I understand that they’re just looking for attention,” she said. “It’s just that to do this involving such an important issue is shocking. Human trafficking is a serious matter, not to be joked about or made famous over.”

The model and influencer continued to draw attention to the seriousness of the accusation. “The more we trivialize, the more these victims become invisible, part of a fictional sense, and this horrible market exists, moving a lot of money over women’s bodies. Human trafficking is not fanfic. It’s a serious and urgent matter”, said.

Letícia Maia had been making the accusations through social networks. She even said that a friend of hers, called Desirrê Freitas. is still missing, allegedly kidnapped by Yasmin. “Help us unmask this hoax. Yasmin is involved in the crimes,” she said, without providing evidence.
