The actress revealed that after shooting the film, which was one of her first, she left without having gained a positive experience from it overall
Actress Zoe Saldana talked about meeting producer Jerry Bruckheimer years after the bad experience he had while filming 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
The actress told Entertainment Weekly that after shooting the film, which was one of her first, she “walked away without having had a positive experience from it overall.”
“I felt like I was lost and it just didn’t feel right,” the actress said.
But “years later,” Saldana recalls, she met with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who “apologized that I had that experience, because he really wants everyone to have a good experience on his projects.”
“That really touched me – the fact that he remembered that I had brought it up during the press conference … and that he felt compelled to bring it up and take responsibility,” the actress said.
Saldana recalled working on the film, which would become the first of five in the hit franchise, as her “first time in a big Hollywood movie where there were so many actors and so many producers and so many crew members. We were shooting in different locations and the environment was not so pleasant sometimes during the days of the shoot,” he told EW. “I was very young and it was all very big for me and the pace was very fast,” she added.
