Cássia Kis and GloboNews anchor fight on WhatsApp over messages about politics

Actress Cássia Kis, 64, and GloboNews presenter Leilane Neubarth, 63, fought after conversations on WhatsApp. The journalist would have asked the artist – an openly supporter of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) – to stop sending messages of a political nature, but the request was not granted.

According to the TV News website, the actress, who is on the air in “Travessia”, would also have criticized Globo and the anchor’s colleagues, who blocked her on the messaging app. The fight resurfaced after a controversial interview by Kis to Leda Nagle’s YouTube channel, in which she made homophobic statements.

The disagreement would have started at the beginning of the year, when the actress began to send messages of an electoral nature to Leilane. Annoyed, the journalist asked that, out of respect for their friendship, Kis stopped sending the content on her WhatsApp.

The artist would have disdained the request of the then friend, and continued sending messages defending the current president of the country and said that the journalist could block her if she wanted. The last interaction of the two would have been days after the hearings held by Jornal Nacional, still in the first round of the elections, when Kis offended colleagues of the journalist and Globo.

Neubarth would have then chosen to remove the actress from his contacts, after requests for respect for friendship. The two became friends after taking a meditation course at the journalist’s house. Both talked frequently and kept in touch. On her official Twitter profile, Leilane commented on the reported disagreement.

“I’m team Leilane”, wrote the actress and director Mika Lins. The journalist responded with a closed fist emoji and another sending a kiss. Another internet user also responded to the article saying: “I was impressed by Leilane’s patience with this young lady”. The anchor replied, “We cannot match people who have unbalanced words and actions.”
