The vote is secret and some celebrities insist on taking it literally. In times of demands from fans for positioning about absolutely everything on social networks, names such as Cauã Reymond, Marina Ruy Barbosa and Marcos Mion preferred to remain silent about those who prefer to see elected president in this Sunday’s elections (30).
For this reason, they were branded as “exempt”, as happened for many years with Ivete Sangalo, who was called that by those who expected her to make a statement about the country’s direction. This year, however, the singer made a point of making clear her predilection for a change in the management of the federal government.
Some names on the list (check it out in the gallery) have already given one or another general statement about the country’s direction, but it is difficult to extract an assertive statement about politics from them. Others have even spoken out in previous elections, but were “pianinho” during this year’s election period.
It is possible that many of them fear getting involved in politics at a time of such polarization. With the polls pointing to a fierce dispute between Lula (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL), there is a great chance of displeasing a part of the fans. Such a statement can also have financial repercussions — either because contracts with broadcasters prevent it or because some companies may not want to hire them for some types of advertising if they become too closely associated with this or that candidate.
Even so, many of the colleagues felt it was worthwhile to show support for the projects they believe in. Those who didn’t, still have the next few hours to change their mind or the next 4 years to assess whether they made good use of their power of influence.
