It is a breath away from the “Arachova of the North”, the touristic Agios Athanasios and the ski resort of Kaimaktsalan
At an altitude of 750 meters on the slopes of Mount Voras, there is a welcoming traditional village with an incredible view to Lake Vegoritis and the wonderful plain with the orchards.
Originally the village was called Oslo. However, it was renamed Panagitsa by the refugees, who with meager supplies but unlimited mental strength, arrived after the population exchange in 1926. Later, during the 50s, American heretics arrived in the village and taught the locals how to grow trees. . Thus, today, many residents of the village are engaged in the cultivation of apples, cherries, peaches and other products produced in the plain.
The area has been designated as an archaeological site since 1997. To the east of the village, a cemetery dating back to the late Byzantine years was found, while to its southwest an ancient settlement has been identified, dating from the Bronze Age to the Hellenistic years, with particularly strong evidence of habitation in the Iron Age.
It is a breath away from the “Arachova of the North”, the touristic Agios Athanasios and the ski resort of Kaimaktsalan, and carries its own strong character, strengthening the surrounding area. Guest houses, traditional taverns with good food, artificial snow slopes for white sports enthusiasts, an aerobatic center with aerobatic displays and a specially designed moto-cross racing track, are some of what it offers.
