The incorrigible Aris Betsson paid for his mistakes again and experienced another European defeat

The bad season he has been having in recent weeks was confirmed in yet another game Aris Betsson.

On Tuesday night (21/10), the Thessalonians lost me score 86-79 from Manresa in the packed Alexandrio for the 4th matchday of the EuroCup group stage, thus reaching the four straight losses and five in their last six games in Greece and Europe.

His team Bogdan Karajcic “paid” for her bad start in the match, the many mistakes (18), but also the sluggish first five minutes in the fourth and final period, as a result of which she fell to the 4th place of the first group with a record of 2-2 and the Spaniards rise to 3-1.

Top of the winners was Obasohan with 20 points, 5 steals, 3 rebounds and the same number of assists, while for the “yellows” the good performance of Inoch (19 points), Bohorides (10 points, 7 assists, 5 points) and Harel (15 points) went wrong.

As a result of all this, Manresa with 7-0 and shortly after with 14-3 in the 5th minute. Thessalonians needed 5.5 minutes to score their first field goal, with Ronnie Harrell to take charge of the situation and carry his team with ten points, shaping on 18-27 of the first period.

With him Mitrou-Long to tie the game, the Yellows went on a quick 8-3 run to cut to three early in the second quarter. In fact, as time went on, the hosts improved their defense and brought the match to their own rhythm, as a result, thanks to the baskets of Bohorides, Inoch and Forrest, they overtook for 43-40 in the 18th minute. Some errors in the final, however, allowed the Spaniards to retake the lead and close the half in front with short head (43-44).

The game evolved into derby in the third quarter, since neither team was able to escape the score and “build” significant differences. It was the visitors who had the lead for most of the period, however, Aris constantly found solutions and stayed close to the score, thanks to a very good attacking performance from Enoch and Jones for 64-66 in the 30th minute.

In the fourth and final quarter, coach Karajcic’s team entered the “Nick Galis Hall” floor very sluggishly with Manresa “hitting” every weakness of the hosts and with a partial score of 13-2 to shoot the difference to +13 and 79-66 in the 34th minute. Thessalonians tried to react in the remaining time, they reduced to 6 with Enoch, Harrell and Forrest, however, they did not reach the desired turnaround, losing with final 86-79.
