Marina Lima, 67, used her profile on social media to pay tribute to Gal Costa this Thursday (10), the day after the singer’s death, at age 77, for an undisclosed cause.
“I don’t even know how to measure the importance of Gal in my professional choice. At the age of 12, just arrived from the USA, when I saw her on the Chacrinha show, guitar in hand, hair curled, unlike anything I knew here, I discovered that there could be a place for me and my musicality in Brazil”, she began in a post with star and heart emojis.
Despite so much affection, the two had been shaken for years. All because in an interview, in 2008, Marina revealed to have lost her virginity to Gal, at 17, engaging in a relationship.
Always discreet about her personal life, Gal did not like to have her privacy exposed and even said that she “didn’t know anyone with that name”, when asked about Marina in a later interview. Marina was hurt and even published an outburst on her blog.
“Honestly, I didn’t imagine such a repercussion. I think it’s crazy that this interview has taken all this proportion. This just confirms how backwards everything is, precisely when the world fights and cries for changes… It’s almost ridiculous”, he shot.
