Singer Marília Mendonça (1995–2021) had her first makeup line announced this Tuesday (14). In partnership with the Océane brand, the products are available on the cosmetics store’s website and, according to a company statement, the artist will have a second collection in 2022.
The line has an eyeliner pen, three shades of liquid lipstick, a six-color eyeshadow palette, an illuminator palette with three options and blush. The edition is limited and was named “Marília Mendonça by Océane. Inspiration that cannot end”. Part of the sales will be donated to works and social causes that she supported.
According to the brand, the partnership had been planned for a year, and the launch of the products was scheduled for December 4th. Ruth Moreira, the artist’s mother, supported the project’s continuity. “She said that I would love the makeup line and it really looked beautiful. There’s nothing fairer than making my daughter’s wish happen now,” she said.
Michel Chehaibar, founder of Océane, stated that the artist participated in all of the line’s development processes. “Her main wish, from the beginning, was that the collection had total synergy with her and her fans. She insisted on choosing each of the colors and textures, gave her opinion about the packaging, wanted to know about the quality of the products” , said.
The artist died on November 5th, after a plane crash. Recently, with the Spotiy audio streaming musical retrospective, the countrywoman was the most listened to female artist in the country, and the third most listened to in the overall ranking, with both men and women.
Marília has more than 12.1 million monthly listeners on the service. She occupies the position of 386th most popular artist among all musicians, national and international, with songs on Spotify.
The duo Maiara and Maraisa, great friends of Marília, took second place in the list of women most listened to on the platform. The three of them launched together the project “As Patroas”, an album with re-recordings of great hits by other artists, shortly before the singer’s death.
